Hip-Hop artists SURREAL Ramen, Knightheart, and Defonix, joined us in the studio to talk about MVNIFVST their one year old multi-genre artist brand. Together, as a community, MVNIFVST provides artists and creative people a platform to get to the next level. We were also joined by local music producer, and friend of the podcast, InSession Productions. The five of us talked about surviving hard times, making art, the hustle and grind of being an artist, and the three rappers all rap and freestyle at the end of the episode.

Curtis Deeter is a teamster, and works in a government Auditor's office. He is also the founder and editor of www.ofrustandglass.com an online magazine for midwestern creatives. (pro tip, I have an interview in their most recent edition.) Curtis is also an accomplished, and widely published author. His novel 'Morning Blood in Mio' is available most places you can order books. Same for his short story collection, 'Catching Lighning.'
Curtis and I spend more than hour talking about what it's like to be a part of a community art scene, the struggle of being creative after working full-time jobs for the man, and he shares with us a little about his creative process. Give it a listen. If you like it, tell your friends.

Sal Soriano (stage name SS) is a Chicago area hip hop artist. He dropped in the Not A Duck In Any Row Studios with InSession Productions, Press Play, and Zak Nevers. We talked extensively with Sal about his new album 'Midwest Connections' and his process for creating art.
Like all the previous times I've got to hang out with the InSession Productions crew, we let loose are ideas on art, good writing, ghost stories, spiritual theories about the afterlife, and philosophy. My two year old grandson, MJ, makes a cameo towards the end, too. Give it a listen, and go check out SS' new album.
